Description

This postcard shows the new Halle’s Department Store ca. 1910. The eastern building was designed by Henry Bacon with interiors done by Owen Coghlin. It cost over $1,500,000. The popular Drew Carey Show on ABC television used the store’s exterior as its backdrop. It featured a specially designed built-in vacuum cleaning system and special slides for packages.
