Abstract

At first glance, a PTSD clinic specializing in combat-related trauma is an unlikely place to find a counseling psychologist. However, the underlying principles of recovery and the process of healing uncovered in treatment highlight the potentials of human development and growth. This presentation will offer an overview of the impact of combat on human functioning, a brief overview of treatment options and the unique perspective and contributions that may be offered by counseling psychologists in this field.
