Abstract

Detectives O'Hara and McHugh interviewed over 15 Bay Village residents and Sheppard family neighbors. Nancy Ahern was interviewed at this time and recalled how Marilyn had once seemed depressed because Sam was "infatuated' with a former Clevelander now in California. Nancy reported that Marilyn believed that because Sam had worked so hard on his education, he had little fun in his boyhood and now he was "still just a boy" who would "learn sooner or later to grow up."
