Abstract,"Stan Jaffe, born in Brooklyn,NY in 1929, recounts growing up in Queens during the depression, attendendance at City College during the 1949-50 NIT/NCAA championships.  Moved to Cleveland to work for the Metals Division of Ogden Corporation, headquartered in Shaker Heights because Carl Ablon, president  lived there.  Jaffe was impressed by the concentration of cultural facilities in University Circle, enjoys Crawford Auto Museum, never felt unsafe in University Circle.  Became CFO at Judson Park Retirement Center in 1980's, recounts history of Judson Retirement Community, instigated by John Rockefeller in 1906.  Judson Manor built as high class hotel in 1921, as area around East 105th deteriorated hotel closed down.  Memories of Shaker Square as a vibrant shopping and dining area and its deterioration.  Discusses the saving of Playhouse Square and the excellence of ""Jaques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris."" Mentions restaurants in Little Italy,and it's settlement by Italian stonecutters, describes intolerance towards African-Americans by residents of Little Italy. Laments loss of manufacturing ability in United States and its direct affect on Cleveland. Jaffe applauds the quality of education at Cleveland State. Mentions tours of Lakeview Cemetery and its extensive history including burials of Rockefeller, Wade and  Alan Lerner.  Discusses the oil crisis in the early 1970's as catalyst for popularity of foreign automobiles, compounded by UAW demands."
