1,"India was born in Mount Sinai Hospital, grew up on 92nd and St. Clair, currently lived in Westchester. Pete was born in a house on South Blvd. India moved around due to her job but moved right back to Glenville. "

3,"Pete used to live in Garfield Heights. Decided to buy and rehab a house on Westchester in 1980. India attended to Miles Standish before Charles Lake was built. Then went from Empire to Collinwood. Pete attended Miles Standish, Empire, and went to David. "
4,"Graduated, went to Glenville for 2 weeks and attended John Hay with his friends. Graduated in 1966 from John Hay. India attended Cleveland State, then left to become an air traffic controller. "
5,"Also attended Mandel School at Case and did a year long fellowship at Harvard for design. Pete went into the military for 4 years, took courses through the University of Maryland. Got a job at the fire department for 32 and a half years. India and Peter got married. "
6,Moved from bottom of the department to the chief. 
7,"Started as supervisor at 28 years old. India had a garden at Miles Standish, bike riding, tennis, bowling. "
8,"Pete played baseball at Gordon Park, had a garden at Miles Standish. Didn't understand why he was going to school in elementary school. "
9,Education was important in India's family. Father said you couldn't become intelligent reading comic strips. 
10,"There were people in the neighborhood who were doctors, dentists, and preachers. Looked up to grandfather in the steel mill. Pete just wanted to get a job and take care of himself. "
11,Remembers Williams Funeral Home. Mostly Jews owned businesses on 105th. 
12,Peter sold Jet magazines in the neighborhood. 
13,Would try to sell them on Fridays after people got paid.

19,"Had lots of businesses, Forest City Hospital. Muhammad Ali hosted a benefit for Forest City Hospital. "
20,Peter was in the military during the Civil Rights Movement. 
21,Mother would tell him about the events in Glenville during the Civil Rights Movement. Couldn't believe the condition of the neighborhood after he came back from the service. 
22,"White people lived on Peter's street growing up, born in 1947. "
23,"Gradually moved away. A lot of people moved into Glenville during the 1960s, that is when properties started to deteriorate. India remembers seeing the National Guard, father drove her around to look at the condition. "
24,"Remembers being scared, grew up with people taking care of the neighborhood. Jewish people sold to her family. Why would they destroy their own neighborhoods? "
25,"Black Nationalist shoot out on Lakeview and Superior. Peter knew one of the men involved. Men called police in on a car, and waited for them to get there. "
26,"Peter's household never talked about whites and race. Mother taught how he was supposed to behave, would ask how to act if he was in the White House. "

28,"Community knew everybody, there was pride and everyone watched out for each others children. "
29,"Around 4 church on 105th. Bethany, Cory, church where priest gave out numbers on the radio. "

32,"People would get their shoes shined on Saturday and Sunday. 8 or 9 years old. Also shined shoes across from Bethany called ""Dads"" and across from Cory.  "
