Abstract

The article focuses on anti-Semitic public expressions of hatred against Jews in line with the Holocaust. There can be little doubt that the stigma of being called a Nazi is real. But the term Nazi, like the word Holocaust, has been appropriated by nearly every group wishing to call attention to its own plight. It is the notion of opinion leadership that is at the base of the idea of community relations that is a large part of the work of organizations such as The American Jewish Committee. It is this notion that has shaped the belief that the most effective kind of community relations is what has come to be called retail or person-to-person and face-to-face, community relations.
