Production Title

Twelfth Night: Or, What You Will

Production Date

1980

Photograph Caption

Mix-up: Viola (at right) in her disguise as a male page, seems understandably surprised to learn that the Lady Olivia, whom she has been sent to woo, has fallen in love with HER rather than with her master, the Duke Orsino. It's all in the slightly inebriated spirit of William Shakespeare's great lyric comedy, Twelfth Night.

Dialogue

Olivia: " I love thee so, that, mauger all thy pride,
Nor wit nor reason can my passion hide" (III.II.163-64.)
Viola: " And so adieu, good madam. Nevermore
Will I my master's tears to you deplore." (III.ii.173-74)
