English Abstract

This paper, through a combined quantitative-qualitative research method, was designed to study the importance of integrating Chinese culture into Chinese teaching as a foreign language. The research discussed the major reasons that contributed to the phenomenon of the parable of “the Blind Men and an Elephant” in Chinese teaching. Suggestions were provided and discussed on how to integrate Chinese culture into Chinese teaching for a successful Chinese teaching and learning experience and a sustainable Chinese program.
