Steve Sanders is author and founder of Training Camping For Life.
Steve Sanders was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio where he graduated from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District in 2001. He continued his education at Bowling Green State University where he also played football for 3-time National Championship coach Urban Meyer. Sanders finished his college football career with impressive career stats landing him honors as one of BGSU’s All-Time leading wide receivers. More importantly, he graduated college with a degree in Political Science. Sanders on field success led him to play in the NFL for his hometown, the Cleveland Browns, during the 2006-2008 seasons. He also has played for the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals. In 2011, Sanders willingly retired from the NFL. As part of his life commitment to directly impacting young people who have come from similar environments, in 2011 Sanders announced the opening of The Steve Sanders Academy, an Ohio Community School in his old community. At the age of 28, Sanders was one of the youngest people across the country to found an educational institution. He is also one of the first professional athletes to willingly step away from his childhood dream of playing professional football to commit his life to directly impacting the youth by opening a charter school. In addition to his playing career and philanthropy, Steve Sanders recently launched Training Camp For Life, a nonprofit organization created to inspire, impact and influence young male students and student-athletes in all aspects of sports and life. His new book “Training Camp For Life: Developing Champions In Sports and In Life” is released May 1, 2014. Steve Sanders is currently touring universities and high schools across the country as a professional inspirational speaker and author promoting his Training Camp For Life model.
