Program Description

The Nigerian University education system has been challenged with many drawbacks including but not limited to lack of relevant and affordable learning resources. Realizing the importance of Open Educational Resources (OER) in combating the challenge, the National Universities Commission (NUC) as from 2015 came up with programmes to engage stakeholders for incorporating OER in the system. Nevertheless, there is currently a separate effort by the Commission to replace the incumbent curriculum with new one. This effort seems to be an opportunity to mainstream OER in the system. Thus, this presentation intends to analyse the recently released curriculum to measure the extent at which it support OER mainstreaming in the Nigerian University education system.
