Program Description

The events of the summer of 2020 brought racial justice to the forefront of society's consciousness. The Affordable Learning Exchange team at Ohio State University recognized the need to support faculty in this area and developed a pilot racial justice program with nine participants. This program has since grown into a grant program that includes an Open for Antiracism curriculum within a Canvas Course with impact across 26 colleges and departments. We developed this program using our expertise in OER implementation and can in turn apply new lessons learned from our racial justice cohorts to our iterative, evolving affordability program. Attendees at our session can expect to gain practical knowledge and strategies for incorporating racial justice themes into their OER projects. We'll discuss how to navigate potential challenges and leverage resources to create more equitable content.
