Gene Roy interview, 08 August 2013

Abstract

Gene Roy, a resident of Judson Manor, discusses her life and her interests. She was an accomplished double bass player. She studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and later taught there. She describes the building that housed the Institute and the professors who taught there. She also played at the Eastman School of Music and the Rochester Philharmonic. She lived in Cleveland Heights and had two daughters that she taught to sing and are very musically gifted. Music is a point that she thinks all parents should emphasize, and then she gives instructions on how to properly be involved in the musical education of children.She concludes by sharing her favorite artists and genres.
