International Keynote Speaker

Mr. Rickey Tax, Director of the Museum Meermanno, the "House of the Book," in The Hague, Netherlands, will visit Northeast Ohio and participate in Octavofest Events, providing several keynote presentations.

Mr. Tax holds an art history M.A. from the University of Amsterdam, and has been at the Meermanno since 2002, curating the section of the collection that deals with materials produced after 1850. His scholarly specialty is Dutch typography.

His presentations will help audiences consider – in international context – the history and future of books, their changing technologies, and their preservation as repositories of knowledge in a variety of settings and under changing circumstances of publication.
