The Cauldron is Cleveland State University's weekly student-run newspaper covering a variety of topics including news, sports, arts & entertainment and opinion.
Past issues of The Cauldron have traditionally been housed in the University Archives. Beginning in fall 2015, The Cauldron began publishing only alternate issues in print format. In order to continue preserving copies of the student newspaper and to make them accessible worldwide, The Cauldron will be digitally archived here.

Fall 2015, Issue 1 of The Cauldron. Cleveland State University is back to school with a new Center for Innovation in Medical Professions building and the annual Week of Welcome. CSU Basketball has a new partnership with Quicken Loans Arena and a CSU student designed a geofilter for the Treemont neighorhood that was accepted by Snapchat. The opinion section features our first Advice with Amara and the feature examines the role of student debt in the 2016 presidential election.

Fall 2015, Issue 2 of The Cauldron. In The Cauldron's first-ever online-only issue, we examine the everchanging idea of the gender binary through talking with those who believe in it and those who do not. We also preview TEDxCSU and showcase women's soccer and the Rec Center's new Pink Gloves Boxing class. We catch up with a CSU professor who wrote a local theatre piece and we examine why Issue 3 is a bad deal for pot smokers in Ohio.

Fall 2015, Issue 3 of The Cauldron. We preview the diverse happenings scheduled for Fall 2015 from CSU's arts program from concerts to poetry readings. Tapingo promises Chipotle delivery on campus, CSU lacrosse and cross country gear up for their respective seasons, and we review a number of movies, TV shows, and short stories. Our opinion writers examine on-campus safety after dark and while taking the RTA.

Issue 6 of The Cauldron we discuss the lengthening of the Commuter Corner hours, dance marathon captured on campus, the Cleveland Indians missing playoffs, Women's golf new record, feature is about the Voting Rights act of 1965 and how it's impacted racial equality, Mike Abbadini student who rocks on campus, a CSU professor's play ran at the Playhouse, movie and show reviews and four opinions about senseless gun voilence in Cleveland, gender equality, Donald Trump's campaign and how words affect sexual practices.

In issue 7 of The Cauldron we welcomed new Police Chief Gary Lewis and celebrated National Coming Out Day. We looked at the life of a CSU athlete and did a review of the Cavs scrimmage. Then, we discussed what it is like to work an on campus job and we also reviewed the TV show American Horror Story: Hotel. Finally, we discussed the importance of student journalists and why it is important to utilize your professors' office hours.

Issue 8 of The Cauldron focused on the issue of homelessness at CSU and what it's like to be a homeless student working through college. We also reported on TEDxCleveland State University and previewed the upcoming season for men's and women's basketball. The Cauldron showcased students who rock and reviewed theatre, comedy, and film presentations. Finally, the OP section tackled race issues and the hot topic Black Lives Matter movement.

Boo! It's The Cauldron's Halloween issue. We take the reader inside a first-person journey into a haunted house and showcase CSU students' Halloween costumes and CAB's Day of the Dead event. Spooky Sports reports on CSU basketball's Hallo-Hoops event and A&E features Halloween movie picks and Halloween events around Cleveland. Finally, the OP section examined why it's ok to stay in on Halloween and why the holiday may not be as innocent as we think.
