Description
This exhibition and catalog, "Yet Still We Rise," is brought to you within the context of the Cleveland Artists Foundation mission: to preserve, research and present the artistic legacy of this region. It is our hope that it will help uncover new information about the artists featured in the exhibit and bring to the public’s attention those about whom we have no knowledge (from the Foreword).

Comments
The exhibition was shown in three venues: Cleveland State University, Cleveland Ohio (March 15, 1996 - April 20, 1996); The Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio (December 22, 1996 - January 26, 1997); and the Riffe Gallery, Columbus, Ohio (April 24, 1997 - July 12, 1997). It was a prequel to 2009's Each in Their Own Voice: African-American Artists in Cleveland, 1970-2005.
