Manuscript Submission

Guidelines for Publication

The Law Review welcomes submissions by judges, professors, practitioners, and law clerks. All submissions shall include a cover letter, an abstract, and must conform to the Nineteenth Edition of the Bluebook.

The Law Review will give preference to articles between 20 and 60 law review pages in length, including text and footnotes, as the Law Review disfavors articles exceeding 100 pages. Electronic submissions are preferred; however, the Law Review will accept paper submissions if necessary. For more information, please contact our Submissions Editor at .

Membership Selection

Students are the driving force of the Law Review. Each year, a number of distinguished CSU law students oversee the entire publication process: selecting articles submitted to the Law Review for publication, the editorial process, and final publication of each issue of the Law Review.

Editors of the Law Review organize and implement the day-to-day operations, while Associates focus on editing and perfecting articles in anticipation of publication. Associates must compose a scholarly Note of publishable quality on a legal topic of their choosing.

In order to be eligible for invitation to join the Law Review, a student must:

  1. Have at least three semesters remaining
  2. Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

Each year, the Law Review extends invitations to:

  1. Students ranked within the top 10% of each class
  2. Students selected for invitation through the Summer Writing Competition

Class Rank Invitations are extended to all students within the top 10% of their respective classes (full-time and part-time).

Part-time and dual degree students who are invited to join the Law Review by virtue of their class rank may defer membership for one year provided that they continue to meet the requirements for an invitation the following year.

The Law Review also extends invitations to students who successfully compete in the Summer Writing Competition. The Summer Writing Competition, conducted jointly with the Journal of Law & Health and the Global Business Law Review, requires students who wish to join the Law Review to compose a written product that demonstrates the excellent writing skills necessary to compose a high-quality scholarly article. A student may enter the Law Review's Summer Writing Competition only once during their tenure at CSU Law. Under no circumstances will a student receive an invitation to join the Law Review more than twice.
