Abstract

Alia Almashni was born in Puerto Rico to a Palestinian family. Her parents came to Puerto Rico in 1972 after 1967 war. She has two brothers and two sisters and also two daughters. She went to Palestine when she was 11 years old. Alia works at the Cleveland Municipal court in the Housing division. She also teaches Spanish at TRI-C and gives workshops and training about Arab culture. She has a B.A. in Criminology and a masters in Spanish. She is connected to the Arab community in Cleveland and she is proud of her Arab identity.
