Abstract
The effect of the variation of temperature and concentration of the reactants on the properties including morphology, and mechanical properties of hydroxyapatite (HA) was investigated. The morphology the HA powders were analyzed high-resolution field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). Weibull analysis was used to characterize the particle size distribution. It was observed that the highest aspect ratio of HA particles was obtained at a condition of reactant concentration being 2.0 g÷dL and reacting temperature being 100°C. It was also observed that with the increase of the concentration and reacting temperature, the flexural strength of the HA pellets was increased.
