Air pollution causes a wide range of effects on human health, including disorders of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. Prior knowledge of levels of pollutantsin the atmosphere of an area can be useful to provide data to activate emergency actions during periods of atmospheric stagnation, when the levels of pollutants in the atmosphere can represent risk to public health. Hence, the development of an efficient air quality prediction and early warning system is an obvious and imperative need.
