Abstract

This chapter presents a brief overview of the textile industries, discusses the textile processes, and focuses on the wastewater characterization and treatment processes of this industry. The main treatment technologies and emerging techniques using various waste materials from agriculture and industry or naturally occurring biosorbents are highlighted. The discussion on pollution prevention serves as background to later sections.
