William Corrigan, attorney for Sam Sheppard, contends at a hearing that his client was "illegally arrested." Judge Merrick listens to the oral arguments, then quotes a 1941 law. The Judge refuses the writ, then orders Dr. Sam to be remanded back into the custody of the Sheriff.
