Author Biography

Glenda Thornton is the Director of the Michael Schwartz Library and has over 40 years of professional library service. She serves on the Library Advisory Council for OhioLINK, has been active in the American Library Association and Association of College and Research Libraries. She is a supporter of the Open Movement and most recently served on the Open Textbook Network’s Steering Committee from 2016-2017. With support from the Provost’s Office, in the Spring of 2016, she initiated a successful series of small grants to encourage faculty to adopt or adapt open textbooks.

She received her doctorate from the University of North Texas and her MLS from the University of Oklahoma. She is on the editorial board of Technical Service Quarterly and has authored and co-authored a number of articles on improving library facilities and operations, technical services, and collection management topics.
