Author Biography
Anita R. Walz is associate professor at the University Libraries at Virginia Tech. In her role as Assistant Director for Open Education and Scholarly Communication Librarian she aims to inspire faculty to choose, adapt, create, and publicly share learning resources which are more accessible to students and flexible to potential adopters. She holds a Master degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Philosophy from Wheaton College and has 20 years of experience working in international, government, school, and academic libraries. She recently led a multi-institutional team of faculty and librarians from Virginia Tech and Cleveland State University to generate and review a sharable test bank resource for the open textbook, Strategic Management. Her research interests include: library involvement in open educational resource initiatives, collaboration, library publishing, economics of higher education, and effective teaching practices for college-age and adult learners.
