Description

The Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory and Educational Foundation would like to invite you to the 8th annual benefit and silent auction, Rock Paper Scissors: Get Your Mojo Movin’ At The Morgan. It will be a party you just won’t want to miss!

The entire 15,000 square foot building and half acre garden will be available for guests to explore. Papermaking and letterpress demonstrations will keep guests engaged. Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will keep mouths occupied. Make sure to wear dancing shoes because the wonderful Syncopated Sin Swing Band is ready to get your body a-rockin’ and a-rollin’.

Ravishing paper fashions will be available for auction, including stunning new designs by distinguished couture designer, Joan Yellen Horvitz. Rather than the radical fashion fads which sweep in and out within a season’s time, Yellen Horvitz’s designs tend to be timeless. She describes them as functional, easy to wear, well-proportioned soft and understated with easy curves. After 40 years of business success, she has since retired, but hasn’t lost her flare and interest for fashion.

A dress will be created by Morgan Conservatory’s Artist in Residence, Aimee Lee plus a fabulous kimono by international designer Julie McLaughlin, unique jewelry by Deborah Rosen, along with fashion-forward designs by students of Virginia Marti College will also be featured in the auction.

Other items on auction will include works in traditional art forms that have been created for this event on handmade Morgan paper, vintage works donated by local art collectors, a variety of art collectibles and entertainment, sporting and dining packages. Buy It Now opportunities will be available for those who just have to have that special item.

Tickets will be available August 25 and can be purchased at the Morgan Conservatory, 216- 361-9255, or our website. Tickets will be available for pick up or US Post.

NOTE: All entrance to event is from the East 45th Street Entrance.
