On October 22nd the Cleveland Public Library hosted a wonderful Show & Tell event. This "Show & Tell" featured Book Artist and Papercutter Laura Martin, who specializes in hand-cut text. She will describe various papercutting traditions and show her own work that incorporates cutting into artists books. Also on hand was Book Artist Gene Epstein who likes to find surprises in everyday objects. Her books morph into sculptural forms reminiscent of dancing figures, conceal secret treasures deep in their folds, suggest patterns and shapes of unexpected complexity and charm. What a great event!
