Alpha Particle Chemistry. On the Formation of Stable Complexes Between He2+ and Other Simple Species: Implications for Atmospheric and Interstellar Chemistry

The possibility that stable complexes may be formed between alpha particles (He2+) and small molecules is investigated using QCISD quantum mechanical calculations. Implications for their presence in the terrestrial atmosphere and/or in interstellar space are discussed.
