Abstract
On October 14, 1954, Sheppard moved for a continuance for a reasonable time until the prejudicial effects of newspaper/media publicity could wear off enough to permit a fair trial. George E. Carter, Cleveland Press Business Manager, John A. Van Buren, Cleveland Plain Dealer Business Manager, and Leo P. Doyle, Cleveland News Business Manager were subpoenaed and required to bring a copy of each edition of their respective newspapers issued between the dates of July 5th, 1954 and October 17th, 1954.
