Abstract

This chapter focuses on the introduction of Richard Eberling as a suspect in Marilyn Sheppard’s murder. It introduces the life and events that arguably led Eberling to a life of crime. Statements made by Eberling, in addition to issues with mental illness, kleptomania, and the mysterious deaths of persons associated with him, are proffered as evidence that he was more likely to have committed the murder of Marilyn Sheppard than was her husband Sam.
