Please join us for a Summit on Undergraduate Education in the 21st century on Wednesday, April 20th from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We have planned a day of talks and panels related to general education and undergraduate student learning. The Keynote Speaker is Paul L. Gaston, III, who is the Trustees Professor at Kent State University, and teaches English literature and higher education administration.
A panel presentation and discussion titled, What does general education look like elsewhere? includes Alison Essary, Chair of the General Studies Council at Arizona State University; Stephen Biscotte, Coordinator for General Education at Virginia Tech, and Yves Labissiere, of Portland State University. Other presenters include Dr. Johnnella E. Butler of Spelman College, Dr. Peggy Brickman, Professor, Department of Plant Biology, University of Georgia, Dr. Byron White, Vice President for University Engagement and Chief Diversity Officer at Cleveland State, and Dr. Elizabeth A. Lehfeldt, Dean of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Honors College and Professor of History at Cleveland State University.
