Department of Africana Studies

Department of Africana Studies offers an interdisciplinary major and minor to students at Cleveland State University. Prospective students will take courses in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences and the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs. Africana Studies faculty is a dedicated group of individuals and some of the nation’s finest teachers and scholars, whose expertise provides students with an excellent academic environment to pursue their interests. The ultimate goal of the faculty is to challenge Africana Studies majors and minors to achieve their maximum potential as students and citizens of the world. Students who major in Africana Studies must complete a minimum of thirty (30) credit hours, and students seeking the minor are required to complete a minimum of fifteen (15) credit hours.
