Abstract
Marianne Ludwig describes her decision to move to Tremont, motivated by a desire to live in a historic yet revitalized area, and her involvement in the community, including her role in the North of Literary Block Club. She reflects on her background, including her German heritage and upbringing in Illinois, and shares her views on the challenges and changes in the Tremont neighborhood, particularly concerning historic preservation, urban development, and community engagement. Ludwig also touches on her personal and business life, including the opening of an ice cream shop in a historic building she and her husband renovated.
