Description
Thiis 1900 photograph of East 14th Street & Euclid Avenue provides a glimpse of the bucolic life that once existed on this portion of Euclid Avenue. The prestigious Euclid Avenue Presbyterian Church is located just behind the Fulton Street streetcar. Further down the street on the right is the First Baptist Church. The nonchalant way people cross this lightly traveled boulevard would soon be a memory. With the advent of the automobile, later that same decade, all this cherished tranquility would vanish literally overnight.
