Posters and Simple Broadsides – with Eric Gulliver
Sunday Oct. 20 and Sunday Oct. 27
Perfect for poets and writers-this letterpress class is designed for the first timer. Come and create broadsides combining image/text! Focus on setting wood and large type and larger type ornaments to create posters and simple broadsides on the Vandercooks. Plan on laying out a short text [10-20 words max.]. Students will carve linoleum blocks (mounted on wood bases), or use their own type ornament. Plan to work on images and text that can be printed on 10” X 12” posters using text no smaller than 36 point. Due to space restrictions the workshop is limited to four people. Class runs 2 consecutive Sundays Oct 20th + 27th from 10am-4pm (Participants encouraged to bring a packed lunch). $150 includes one Free Open Studio Pass.
