The program will include comments from both our guests about the significance of the November 1st to Maya communities, and about its associated traditions of honoring ancestors, making kites, and celebrating community identity, memory, and renewal. The Morgan Conservatory will be receiving a traditional ceremonial kite from Maya community members Gorrión Chupaflor. National Geographic recently featured a beautiful video of the November 1 kite celebration.
