Description

Celebrate Octavofest at the Library! Meet Tom Balbo, artistic director of the Morgan Conservatory, who will present an illustrated history of the Morgan, its accomplishments over the past decade, and plans for the future with its new Executive Director, Geri Eileen Unger. In 2007, Tom Balbo teamed up with noted Cleveland-area artists and national hand papermaking artists to improve and conserve the art of paper & book arts educational programming in the US. Knowing that these were art forms worth preserving, the Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory and Educational Foundation officially opened its doors in October 2008. A question-and-answer session follows the program with a viewing of handmade paper samples. Free and open to the public.

Also on view is the Morgan Conservatory's display of papermaking tools and materials as well as samples of different types of paper and their uses.
