Abstract
Sgt. Hubach filed this report after meeting with Drs. Stephen and Richard N. Sheppard as well as Dorothy Sheppard at Sam Sheppard's home. Hubach notes that Dorothy Sheppard was trying to find the source of a foul odor in the kitchen when Hubach noticed a key on the floor behind the wastebasket. He tried the key in the door, and it fit. Hubach stated that he did not believe the key had been there when they first investigated the scene because they would have found it.
