Description
a) For the assignment, we had to select a quote from a movie or tv show and create kinetic typography for it. b) I animated in Adobe After Effects and used a clip from Alex Garland's Devs on FX. c) Devs is one of my favorite tv series and it deals with the philosophy of determinism. Using Nick Offerman's monologue, I wanted to create a short visualization for people who may not know what that is. Determinism is the idea that everything has a material cause. I conveyed this by creating a Rube Goldberg that is played in reverse. Someone could rewind the video and the cause and effect chain should look normal.

I enjoyed creating this and learned a lot. I am a huge fan of Devs and this is probably the closest I've ever come to making fan fiction.
